You've captured some pretty intense emotion here. The layers created by the glass and the reflections gives it so much depth; it really extends the intimacy of the moment into something so much bigger, tapping into some sort of universal reaction to the beginning and grand potential of a new life.
My son was born 2 months ago, so this brings me to a nice place. i must add tho, when he was born he dint have to be in that baby viewing room or whatever they call it. he was with me from the moment he was born til we left the hospitol 3 days later. shes beautiful btw, how much did she weigh? thats a big baby?!
She was a C Section baby so it made things a bit complicated. I was lucky to be allowed into the room- then again I wasn't going to take no for an answer . Nia looks proportionally large because of the forced perspective. From memory, she was 6 pounds 12 ounces. Thank you!
well, the baby is just precious. but what really makes the photo something worth seeing is the emotion expressed on the other side of that glass. i love the expressions you have caught on each viewers face, and the fact that the baby just looks so serene. one of the best photojournalism peices i've ever seen.
